Spa Euro Race will be more intense than ever

this coming weekend

One of the must-attend spring events at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the Spa Euro Race will be in full swing on Friday 30, Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June. With six different series and no fewer than 11 races, including 10 with international status, the intensity will be king and the spectacle total. And all with free admission for the public...

It's a success story that's been going on since the very early 90s! Spa Euro Race, the major circuit-based organisation of the Royal Automobile Club de Spa, has always offered a patchwork of events combining single-seaters, Grand Tourism and Touring, as well as sprint and endurance events. This formula is more prevalent than ever, and bodes well for the 2025 vintage, which will feature internationally renowned series in addition to the Belcar Endurance Championship.

Over the years, the Spa Euro Race has witnessed the emergence of countless champions who passed through the R.A.C. Spa meeting when they were making their debut in single-seaters. By providing the setting for the third round of the GB3 Championship, this trend is bound to continue. The most important single-seater series in the United Kingdom, which has taken over from the British F3 championship, is establishing itself as a breeding ground for youngsters with clearly stated ambitions. And they often come from far and wide! After Silverstone and Zandvoort, it was the Australians who topped the rankings, namely Patrick Heuzenroeder, Alex Ninovic and Noah Lisle. Britain's Deagen Fairclough will be trying to defeat them in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. The teams involved include Rodin, Hitech and Prema, which says a lot about the appeal of the GB3 Championship!

One of Europe's most prestigious marque cups, the Alpine Elf Cup Series will be contesting its second meeting of the season this weekend, after the Easter Cup at the Nogaro circuit. Double winner Léo Jousset will be keen to continue his winning ways, while Romain Monti and Victor Weyrich are already looking to reverse the trend. Tom Verdier and Thibaut Bossy (Challengers), Mathias Cazaux (Juniors), and Paul Paranthoen (Gentlemen) are the other leaders before taking to the track at Spa-Francorchamps.

With around fifty drivers on track, the Clio Cup Series promises to be explosive once again! Following on from Nogaro and Dijon-Prenois, this is the first outing outside France for the 2025 competition, and as tradition dictates, the battle for victory and the championship lead is hotly contested! David Pouget, three times winner in four races, has already made the break in the standings, which means that on the Ardennes asphalt, Ben Colburn (best Challenger), Nicolas Milan, Gaël Castelli, Anthony Jurado, Mauro Polderman (best Junior) and all the others already have to react! This promises to be a great series...

One of Spa Euro Race's traditional series, the Lotus Cup Europe will contest its second round of the season this weekend. After Hockenheim, Belgian driver Robbe Janssens is provisionally third in the standings, behind Hungarian Tamas Vizin and Briton David Harvey. Between the Exige V6 Cup R, the Elise Cup R, the 340R and the 2-Eleven, the battle will rage on in a single 50-minute race scheduled for midday on Saturday.

Spa Euro Race wouldn't be Spa Euro Race without the Supercar Challenge! The famous Dutch competition will once again feature two 60-minute clashes. After Zandvoort and Silverstone, the competition leaders are Rik Renmans and Wim Meulders, at the wheel of a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup in the colours of the Belgian Speedlover Racing team in GT, Berry Van Elk and his BMW M4 GT4 in Supersport Plus, Dennis and Steff De Borst with their pretty Hyundai i30 N TCR in Supersport, and the Belgians Bart Van den Broek and Chris Voet, in an Alpine A110 Cup, in Sport. Around sixty cars are expected to take part this weekend, proof that the Supercar Challenge has regained its former vigour...

Last but not least, the Belcar Endurance Championship will be contesting its second race of the season, following the kick-off at Zolder a short while ago. The Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars, including those of D'Ieteren Luxury Performance by NGT and Belgium Racing, will have to be wary of the Audi R8 LMS GT2 Haas RT on the fast track in Sparta. The traditional 125-minute race gets underway at 13:15 on Sunday.

There's no doubt that there will be no shortage of attractions this weekend, and for spectators, the Spa Euro Race remains free! So why deprive yourself?
