For over 25 years, Spa Euro Race has become an unavoidable tradition of June at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Before the holidays, motorsports enthusiasts came here with friends or family to attend, free of charge, a selection of lively races.
With 5 categories, 12 starts in 2 days, abundant lines-up, single-seat racing cars entrusted to ambitious youngster dreaming of the most prestigious trial, GT racing or Tourism, there will be something to suit all tastes ! For this 2015 edition, the RAC Spa is delighted to announce the return of the GT France championship, major category of the weekend, in its meeting.
And when you say GT France, it means TV production, well-known drivers and also, explosive show! Oliver Panis or David Halliday are going to put on a show on the track … and backstage. However, the other competitors won’t be outdone!
Living up to its reputation, Spa Euro Race will anew welcome teams from all over Europe. To top it all, we will greet 2 of our regular visitors of our events:
- The Formula Renault 2.0 Alps which will see about thirty ambitious youngster eager to demonstrate their talent on the racing cars with astonishing performance.
- The Supercar Challenge which is used to propose us 2 rounds of 1 hour, nothing less than hectic. Its luxuriant line-up goes until 70 cars on the starting grid. That’s also the occasion to support a lot of Belgians who take part in this Benelux championship. On the programme : Mosler, Viper, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Praga, BMW M3 Silhouette, etc.
And finally, 2 fresh newcomers … from the Denmark!
After a significant success of the French category, it’s the turn of the Danish to get into the competition of the SuperTourisme by Mitjet. Equipped with a 2L engine, around twenty cars are expected on the starting grid at Spa Francorchamps for the very first season of the championship.
The drivers of the category seem to wait resolutely for this rendezvous, and for many of them, Spa-Francorchamps will be a first!
Last, but not least, their fellow countrymen – driving single-seat cars – will be in the starting block with their Formula Ford. Renamed for the occasion to « Spa Euro Formula Ford Race », this championship has gone down in the Danish motorsport history for a long time. The Formula Ford represents the ideal springboard for young people who come from karting and who want to have a go in a professional single-seat career.
From then on, the Spa Euro Race’s cast 2015 cut a fine figure! It should be noted that some of the races will be televised and so, will be available on the live streaming on our website www.racspa.be. The entry (perimeter and grandstands) is free of charge. There is an extra of 5€ for the paddock area.
A lot of races, varied categories, international and Belgian drivers capable of the best performance. Add a ray of sunlight and these are the key ingredients of a marvelous cocktail to savour with abandon.
